Has anyone built a Gemini Fediverse server? — I just discovered Gemini today, and it is a fascinating approach to the Internet. One possibility that seems interesting is to build a Fediverse server with a Gemini front-end. It would have the following properties: Identity would be a Gemini certificate. If I wiped my instance database (so all users, posts and follows are lost), then re-created my user, is there any mechanism (a FEP?) to make all of my followers re-follow me? Otherwise, the rebuilt instance doesn't know who's following me and won't send my posts.

I must say I agree wholehearteldly. You can use tooot.im's for reference as for the reasons (without actual evidence, we don't save these)

is the fedi instance identified by some cryptographic key pair? what if one replaces fedi software on the same domain? let's say i find a way to figure out and migrate the database of socialhome i host to tootik or gotosocial. or i just replace socialhome with gotosocial on the same domain. does each fedi instance also have some keypair that also has to be migrated, so that new instance on the same domain would be accepted by other fedi instances that already established connection with...
Fedi update and thoughts: sloth.run now runs on Firefish 1.0.4 . Everything's fine and dandy. I'll probably put a stop to free registration soon, though.
