Today was the 17th of Tammuz in the Hebrew calendar, a fast day commemorating several harsh events, including the breach of Jerusalem's wall by the Romans prior to the destruction of the Second Temple.
To end the fast my wife made us a spicy ground beef and spaghetti dish which included garlic scapes from our yard. It was a delicious treat in every respect, thank G-d.
