By Cee-Lo Green (2004)
The first few tracks of this really dragged, a kind of plodding almost lounge-gospel feel starting out the album. But my ears pricked up when finally something interesting popped up - his delivery on the line "How could I possibly be inconspicuous / When my flow is fuckin' ridiculous?" is so perfect that suddenly I was in - I was hooked.
But just as quickly as it came, it went away. I appreciate the ambition and the breadth of the album, but so little of it actually forms in to a good song. He can sing, he can rap, but too much ambition and too many cooks in the kitchen and too many tracks made this album a bit of a chore. The good snatches of songs suggest it could have been much better.
