Summary: The crimes of Sirius ‘Open Source’ cannot be isolated from the British government as Sirius was a prolific government contractor for Free software projects

Sirius ‘Open Source’

THE one point people seem to be missing is worth emphasising very clearly. What happened to me and to my colleagues at Sirius isn’t a blunder limited in scope to some single private company. In the case of City of London Police and GLA (local), there is an obvious conflict of interest. They don’t want to investigate the issue and hold people accountable as it may implicate themselves.

But there are aspects that aren’t local to a borough or city. UK Home Office, for instance, was briefly a client (among about a dozen other government agencies/departments). There are other ‘high level’ clients — ones that the company publicly brags about in its Web site.

If the British government looks the other way and the police treats the matter with contempt, what will that say about this whole system? █
