●● Why We Don’t Issue (Purely) Political Messages

Posted in Site News at 9:16 pm by Dr. Roy Schestowitz

Summary: Techrights has always been a site about technology (with more political news picks, in raw form, relegated to Daily Links); we intend to keep it that way

NOT many new articles were published this past week. We try to take Techrights to the next level on numerous levels. Our high-priority subject remains the EPO, but we’re also increasingly focusing on the state of the Internet (Gemini is still growing; see latest graph at the bottom), not just Free software — a subject that is closely related to patent monopolies and the Net.

EPO

> “Our hearts go out to all those harmed by the situation.”

While we’re closely monitoring the events (invasion) in Ukraine — with focus on technical/technological angles — we don’t intend to write much (or anything) about the politics of it. Not because it does not matter but because it would distract us from our main, principal focus. Our IRC network is already overrun by this topic.

technical/technological angles

Our hearts go out to all those harmed by the situation. Please understand that Techrights exists not to put flags or make political statements. Except when it comes to core issues, notably rights as pertaining to technology. We have a lot to say about this, sometimes in relation to Russia and Ukraine. █
