“In spring, the dawn”

September 20, 2022

As a young girl, I had an idea that someday I would write a novel about a girl who finds an old diary. Over the years, this story developed and changed as I did, but the kernel of the idea stayed the same.

I never knew what the diary would say, but it would probably be filled with stories about love, mundane everyday life, and loneliness, too. What matters isn’t what was said, but instead the comfort it gave the narrator in a time she needed a friend.

I never know how to end these sorts of stories, so I never write them – only the idea of them. But I realized something today, when asking myself why I write this blog. These typed words are the diary that someone else may discover.
