i think the misfin name is already in place, unless you mean in terms of hosting, then whoever hosts should be able to define whatever domain name they can find and assign to that server. thatswhat I can think of with inferrence to what this post could mean, UNLESS you mean to say that there should be a project tying email directly to a gemini-compatible frontend from where anyone can login and use their email? i know there are misfin servers with smtp relay capabilities to forward misfib messages to email tho idk if the same is true for vice versa back into misfin. something to think over.

Following the space-themed naming in Gemini, one could call it INCO, after the flight control position. From Wikipedia: "The INCO was responsible for all data, voice and video communications systems, including monitoring the configuration of in-flight communications and instrumentation systems. I think using the protocols name as a verb term itself to describe the messaging interaction should work well enough.

Example: "Yo imma misfin you this stupid cat picture real quick" "k cool"

"Hey i caught your misfin. Wtf is longcat?" "Thats what im sayin!"

What is being developed is a bit like email or instant messaging. It *uses* Gemini text format, but it is not "over" Gemini, and efforts are being made to minimise the potential confusion.

Misfin is its own protocol (on its own port and with its own wire format), separate from Gemini.
