"Baton Pass" Nuzlocke Run Logs:

I'm doing consecutive runs of main series team, and retiring the pokemon from the final fight (elite four/red) from all subsequent runs. Here are my final teams from my completed games thus far:

Red: Lapras, Electrode, Snorlax, Fearow, Charizard

Crystal: Tyranitar, Dragonite, Pidgeot, Heracross, Slowbro

So far the games have been pretty easy, I lost only one pokemon in Red (Electrode, in the Elite Four) and two pokemon in Crystal (Electabuzz in the Elite Four, and Scizor to laziness in the Janine Gym Fight). So far I have been trying the strategy of winning with the least powerful team possible, so I can still use powerful pokemon in future runs. In particular I want to make sure I always have Magneton and Gyarados available, as they are nuzlocke all-stars in my opinion. Thus, I've tried to thus far use pokemon that are only good in early generation games or are hard to find in later games so that my future teams are as easy to build as possible.

Pokemon Storm Silver Log

ATTEMPT!!!: Attempt 10, Dec 13, 2022 - Dec 24, 2022

I beat red! Unfortunately I made a misplay and sacrificed gyarados to improve my chances of not dying to Red's Snorlax, but everything else went according to plan pretty much. Very excited to have finally kept a run together, but the second half of the game is incredibly easy. I skipped most of my encounters because nothing I could catch would beat my Gyarados/Starmie/Garchomp core. Those 3 were probably the best pokemon throughout the entire run, I was extremely lucky to win the 1/3 to get gible early in the game for sure, but both Gyarados and Starmie are guaranteed.

I got through all the Kanto gym leaders only losing a drapion I caught to Sabrina (her team is very tricky because she finishes with a wobbuffet, so routing that fight was too difficult for me and I made a few mistakes). I'm prepping for Red and then the run is over!

Deathless through the elite four! I picked up a Blaziken that I never got earlier in the game and caught a metang in Victory Road so my team was cracked. I ended up killing Lance's Aerodactyl with a crit struggle lol.

I let Clair's Gyarados set up Dragon Dance and it killed my milotic, but not before she got a clutch quick claw activation that prevented my wipe. I got through Clair with only that death and now it's on to the Elite Four!

NEW PB! I got an extremely lucky crit earthquake on Giovanni's Tauros that meant I didn't need to sacrifice a pokemon, but other than that the plan went as expected and I went deathless through Archer and Giovanni. So I'm officially as far as I've ever been in this game!!!

I lost Medicham in the Ariana fight. It came down to sacrificing houndoom (which I think I will want for archer's scizor, because charizard is dead) or medicham on ariana's vileplume. I was expecting a giga drain because I had starmie in, so I went to medicham because it had a better chance to KO than houndoom (only ~50% to kill with flamethrower). Unfortunately there were overlapping damage ranges with sludge bomb, which it used on the medicham switch AND poisoned him. So he was guaranteed dead unless he crit Psycho Cut (1/8), which he did not. So Ariana is down with 1 casualty, but I think I still have a good chance going forward.

In the middle of the rocket gauntlet in goldenrod city where I wiped last run (had like 1 pokemon left going into the giovanni fight). lost my charizard to pryce because i didn't read that his mamoswine had snow cloak. I was considering it this run, but I think next time I do the pryce fight I need to bring a weather move in order to not fight him in permanent hail. Gyarados learns Rain Dance by then so I think that's probably what I'll do. But I think I can beat the rocket gauntlet this time so we'll see. The first time pokemon challenges beat the rocket gauntlet he ended up beating the whole game lol.

Started this run when I got back from vancouver. didn't post about it until now because I assumed it would take a while to get back into practice. but I just beat chuck on this run, making it my 2nd furthest so far. Got really fucking weird encounters in the early game, but things are starting to come together.

9, Oct 23, 2022:

i couldn't remember what was going on when i came back to this file so i started again lol

I was playing while drinking and watching alex's stream so I forgot to exp share my charmander for the falkner fight and didn't get geodude for the bugsy fight so I ended up losing 2 pokemon (flaffy and quilava) to bugsy because im dumb as fuck. But my box is looking okay for whitney.

lets try this again!

8, Oct 23, 2022:

Reset because literally all of my encounters were dog shit.

Unsure which starter to take. Probably Cyndaquil. Gen 2 starters suck.

7, Oct 14, 2022:

Well I actually managed to beat all the rocket executives, but ended up losing my Luxray to a crit on Ariana, and then all but one of my team to Archer, so I wiped to the finaly fight in the gauntlet: Giovanni. So this is by far my current PB, but I must start again.

I beat price, but lost Charizard and Electrode on the fight itself. I was only using Electrode because I lost Arcanine to a gym trainer before the fight. I was using Electrode to set up Rain Dance in order to nullify the hail that Pryce's lead pokemon sets up. I have a hard time believing that this run will make it past the new rocket gauntlet coming up.

Went through the rocket gauntlet post-chuck deathless, but then lost TWO pokemon (RIP gyarados and torterra) to critical hits on jasmine. SCAMMED for real.

Did deathless Chuck, and now I'm at the point where most pokemon can evolve, so I feel like the best part of the game is ahead of me now! very exciting

Beat Morty, but unfortunately got SUPER unlucky against his Gengar (his paralyzed gengar didn't get fully paralyzed over 6 turns and then crit my Breloom). The rest of the fight went off perfectly however, and I am now on my furthest attempt!

Beat Whitney almost deathless, lost my magnemite to a gym trainer's raticate that had fire fang. RIP to one of the all time greatest pokemon. But I sucessfully did the actual whitney fight deathless which was amazing, but i def got very lucky

About to challenge Bugsy. Leading with Staravia, and the rest of my party is Geodude (with exp share so he will hopefully gain at least 2 levels before scyther), gyarados, magnemite, charmeleon, and glaceon. Really was unsure about bringing something other than magnemite, but rhyhorn doesn't learn any rock moves, onix sucks, and remoraid is probably worse i think. really hope i can get through to goldenrod!

On the other side of union cave I found a rhyhorn which seems exciting. In slowpoke well I got a Shellder which is cool, but unfortunately it has a bad nature, and doesn't have skill link as its ability.

Beat Falkner deathless and without even using all my pokemon. I got an Onix (OMEGALUL) from union cave, but at least it has buffed attack in this game. It evolves without trading as well, but you need an item that I won't get until after the 4th badge. I might use it for Bugsy, but otherwise he is sitting in the box until after Morty.

Have a good team going into Sprout Tower. I caught a magnemite and Shinx, two pokemon I haven't used before. Feeling very good and confident

6, Oct 13, 2022: Wiped to Sprout Tower Elder.

5, Oct 12, 2022: Reset in Burned Tower after losing my two best pokemon.

- Gyarados died to crit into self-hit in confusion

- Gabite died to a selfdestruct on the very next battle

4: Wiped to a new rival battle in goldenrod city.

3: Beat Bugsy but lost too many pokemon to him so I reset.

2: Wiped to Bugsy.

1: wiped to the Sprout Tower Elder.
