The upgrade process from Bullseye to Bookworm was mostly very smooth. I've had this nagging issue with my laptop's Bluetooth controller where it would randomly stop working. This issue became even worse on Bookworm, but eventually, I've found out it had to do with _tlp_, the battery saving package, suspending USB devices to save power. I just removed the package for now and stuff seems to work! Well, almost... Sometimes Bluetooth will remain unusable after I resume from sleep. Bluetooth in general just regularly makes me vom! I guess I'll reactivate my _Creative BT-W3_ donlge, which basically connects to whatever pairs with it first while Linux only sees it as an extra sound card.
My laptop specs:
Asus VivoBook X421DA D413DA 1.0 AMD Ryzen 7 3700U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx (Picasso) 8 GB RAM, 512MB NVMe drive RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter
As my setup is just Sway with a couple of tools and loads of terminal programmes, the experience hasn't changed much, except for the fact that a lot of the Sway and Wayland stuff now is directly in the Debian repos. So, no need to chase random github stuff! All in all, I've been moving more closely towards using as little random github stuff as possible and relying on Debian packages. For now, everything is fresh enough. In 2 years time, I'll probably be using LibreOffice from Backports and maybe Inkscape as an AppImage if the new features are really attractive.
