Advent of Gemlogs

This is the time of the year when all kinds of Advent calendar themed daily challenges pop up. Usually December is not a good time for me to participate in them due to time constraints from a combination of end of year work related activities, travel and hosting guests. In fact when I took up the “Advent of Code” challenge a few years ago, I chose to do it in a different month altogether.

However I want to give it a shot this year. I am going to try to write a gemlog post daily for 24 consecutive days. After all some believe that it takes 21 repetitions to form a habit. And I have been wanting to write regularly for a while now.

These are the rules I am setting for this challenge.

A post should be written every single day. No cheating allowed by skipping days and making up by doubling up on other days.

There is no limit on the minimum number of words in a post but each one should comprise a complete idea that an average person should be able to understand.

I am kicking off the challenge with this post. Here’s to 23 more!
