Why I won't be sticking to a theme

When I started this gemlog, I was planning to only post my rants about what I thought was wrong with present day software development - both open source and commercial. However as of today, I have decided not to limit myself to topics in that area.

So what led me to this decision?

When I actually sat down to jot down my thoughts on any software development topic, I found that I had a lot more to say than I had initially assumed. Every idea expanded so much in my head that I realized it would take a lot of time and effort on my part to turn it into a meaningful log. That usually led to procrastination.

I also think that my writing style could improve quite a bit. The best way to do that - at least in my mind - is by writing more often. And due to the concern mentioned in the previous point, I feel I have to pick other less daunting topics to tackle.

And finally, I believe Geminispace would benefit from having more content in a wider variety of topics since there are already a lot of good tech themed gemlogs here.

My informal goal is to post at least one log a week. Let's see how well I can stick to that.
