The Gemini-space is really versatile and offers countless ways to interact with, one aspect I love so much on Gemini is this direct thread that links a capsule to another one! On dynamic aggregators, like Antenna, you can often find entries that directly address other Gemlogs by simply adding a "Re:" before the title's Gemlog they are referring to, exactly as you would reply to an email from your favorite client!

Such intercommunication across the Gemini-space is absolutely engaging and makes this place so living and, at the same time, so personal: the right place were having an active but asymmetric discussion!

As much as I like this very interaction between capsules, there has been something that I always felt wasn't fitting quite right the scheme, thus I would try to solve it, at least on my side!
For the sake of having a clear distinction between organization and content, I would like to call such interaction between capsules as « Re:log » in opposition to « Gemlog »; You may think that both are the exact same thing — I mean just another "log" — but I might say: « a Gemlog is an action » (an action of creativity); whereas: « a Re:log is a reaction to someone else content ». The latter comes with an inner limitation: it cannot exist alone.

In this specific scenario where I severed Re:logs from Gemlogs, it bothers me (awfully) when both are lied side-by-side. It might sound silly but, when I go reading anyone Gemlog index, I find confusing the mix between Gemlogs and Re:logs; I arbitrary assume that Gemlogs are "original" content while Re:logs are "reactions" (or an interactions) against alien content. Because them are semantically so divergent, I consider them should be served on separate plates.
Despite the natural simplicity of the Gemini protocol making an ugly capsule is trivial, I am not going to tell you how design a good capsule (at least not here) but a predictable pattern of what your are going to find inside a capsule is a big benefit for the reader; therefore having a section dedicated exclusively for the "Re:logs" is a good idea, as much as many of you consider that having a separate section for the Tiny-logs is right and appropriate!

Mostly because I was unsure where those should fit inside the structure of my capsule (older and newer).
I generally try to craft as much as I can my Gemlogs, primarily because English is my second language, and therefore are required several revisions before to get into a semi-readable state. I have never made a Re:log, but I observed that many share some similarities, the most prominent is an appreciable informal tone.
In such context Gemlogs and Re:logs, besides solving different scopes, might have different styles and different approaches, therefore keeping them separated looks a rationale approach.

I can explain why I discourage putting them in the same place through a gastronomic analogy: from my point of view, it would be like serving Italian food along Vietnamese food and, while taken separately both kitchen are divines, when mixed together the collateral effect on your stomach might be catastrophic.
The same will likely to happen to your content: the difference between context and style risks to make difficult for the reader following what is happening in that area of your capsule; eventually he/she/it will run away, I run away when the distinction between content is determined by the time-stamp only.

I do not expect anyone following me on this path, on my remote corner of the Gemini-space I eventually solved a personal inner conflict, finding the right spot for this amazing interaction among Gemini authors!
Now I am feeling ready to engage the Gemini community more actively, contributing to make this soil much more fertile!
