I Don't Really Want to Write This Post

I'm doing it, so I guess I actually do want to. What I meant to say is that I try to avoid discussing the gemini protocol or gemtext these days. I feel like we've gone full circle ages ago.

That said:

We Already Have "Gemini Without TLS"

It's called gopher.

Or spartan.

Or mercury. Please don't implement mercury. It was never meant to be more than a musing and provides absolutely no advantages over spartan.

Anyways...

We already have it. No need to invent yet another protocol. Nor discuss whether gemini should have TLS or not, to be honest. It does, and that's the end of it.

Much love to everyone who's given their opinion on this! The level of engagement in the protocol and community is inspiring!
