Re: Deedum and Intentionality

I really liked Rob S' post about intentionality when using mobile, and specifically surfing gemini. I am really, really not there at all myself!

Whenever I'm at my computer (which is a lot, since I use it 100% for work) I have a terminal window with tmux running. Two windows in tmux are entirely dedicated to spare time things... In one I have a pane with AV-98 where I start the day by adding posts to a tour that I work through during the day in between work. Another pane is open with my tilde.team email, and yet another that tails the Antenna log in real time, primarily because it helps me identify when someone is having trouble with how to submit things or something goes wrong for whatever reason.

In the other private window I have another AV-98 pane dedicated to AstroBotany XD (I'm not addicted... I can stop anytime I want...). A variable number of other panes are used for things like small bug fixes in scripts, testing out python behaviour, finding things in my files if I need to reference something etc.

Let's not even talk about pinned browser tabs.

Even though it's very very varied and kind of shattered all over the place I find at least a certain intentionality in the fact that I have no notifications for any of it. I check here and there when I want to and have time, even though it sometimes distracts me a little too much. But needless to say I have some soul-searching to do in terms of focus and being intentional rather than reactive.

On a finishing note: if one wants an iOS gemini browser which really makes for a focused browsing experience I recommend Rocketeer. It's sleek, fast, and has no tabs. You're on one page at a time, no distractions.
