Re: Re: Attended the IndieWeb Homebrew Website Club Meeting

eaplmx responded to...

... my post about the HWC meeting I attended.

I actually DID write my own feed reader as part of a programming course 😄 As far as I'm concerned it's still hot (I might be biased, having build Antenna and all).

But what I really wanted to respond to was your wish to organize something similar (in Spanish). First of all, I'd love to organize a local physical meetup but I don't know anyone in my town that would be interested. Might have to fix that.

As for the organizing part; that's a lot easier than most people think. I've run a tabletop RPG convention for several years now, and have organized game nights, parties, contests, and a whole lot of other things. Something good that the pandemic has actually given us is space. I don't mean social distancing, I mean a space to hold your event.

Apart from having run my quarterly convention online for more than a year now, I've organized a HWC meeting and two tilde meetups. And it's easier than most people realize. Pick a date and a venue (discord, zoom, jitsi, what have you; there's always "rooms" available and no rent), and spread the word. Maybe have an agenda if you're feeling very ambitious 😋

Spanish is a common enough language. Maybe your chances of holding something in your native tongue are better than mine?
