2023-09-26: ROOPHLOCH 2023

I had intended to write this blog post a lot earlier in the month, but life had other plans for me.

Towards the end of last month, I had the idea of creating a Gemini client on the 3DS, just to see if I could. (I've been using it regularly lately)

Early September, I saw Solderpunk's post about ROOPHLOCH, and obviously I took it as a sign to actually make the client!

Over the course of I week, I learned a LOT about devkitpro and the 3DS, troubleshooted many issues, and finally made a simple client with custom rendering!

I was so excited to go biking and use my 3DS to post a blog entry,

But...

The weekend after I finished the prototype, me and my partner came down with Covid of all things.

Obviously, the entire next week and a half was spent inside doing basically nothing. (I learned how to play Magic The Gathering at least!)

We've been negative for about a week now, and I just hadn't found the time for going out and making this post.

Until today! I decided to go to my local greenway, take a walk, and bring my 3DS!

With 3DS and mobile hotspot in hand, I'm writing this post on a bench by some beautiful water. It's really relaxing.

I'm glad to have gotten out.

Finally

I'm going to release the source of the (messy) 3DS client I'm using to write this within the next day or two!
