Saitî - cantos sagrados dos pajés Noke Koî

This is a fantastic album, a recording made by Instituto Terra Verde among the Noke Koî indiginous tribe, which inhabit the north of Brazil. In it are recorded the singing of 7 pajés (a healer and spiritual leader) as a means to preserve their singing tradition.

The name of the album translates to "Saitî - sacred chants from the Noke Koî pajés". A saitî is a particular chant(prayer) that each pajé receives from a spirit summoned from the forest. What strikes me as most remarkable in this work, besides the fundamental job of preserving such rich cultures, is the fact that this presents a form of native indiginous music from Brazil, which is very hard to come by. It is becoming easier to find recordings by indiginous people, but they generally are mixing their tradition with western music traditions, or are even enterily in the western form. This recording presents a pure rendition of music from a particular tribe, without external influences, you can notice how different it sounds and feels to what we are generally used.

I recommend you either download it with youtube-dl or use some service such as yotter or invidious or a software like freetube, preferably using a proxy.
