This is how I update my Transjovian Capsule using Lagrange on my phone, with many screenshots.

Back to the Transjovian Capsules introduction

Here I am, loading my capsule. Notice how I picked the “Alex” identity down at the bottom where the head silhouette icon is. Create a new identity, if you don’t have one.

Visit your capsule

Click the “Specify file for upload” link and provide a file name ending in “.gmi” – the filename we’re going to create – and click “Send”.

Provide a filename

Now we’re at the correct URL, but we still need to upload something.

The file does not exist

Click the three dot menu “⋯” above and pick “Upload Page with Titan” from the menu.

Upload Page with Titan

Pick your identity again (“Alex” in my case) and click on the “Upload Plain Text” link.

Verify identity

Write or paste the text you want to upload. Notice how I’m already preparing a link to an image at the very end: I want to upload an image called “face.jpg”, too. Click “Upload” when you’re done.

Write text

We’re back at the file list, and the new file “family.gmi” exists!

New file is there!

Click on the link to check it out.

Seeing our text, online

Return to the capsule page using the left pointing arrow at the bottom.

Back to the capsule

Click the “Specify file for upload” link and provide the file name we want: “face.jpg” and click “Send”.

Provide another filename

Again, the file does not exist – yet!

This file also does not exist

Pick your identity again (“Alex” in my case) and click on the “Upload a File” link.

Upload a file

Here’s the tricky part, on the iPhone: you cannot pick an image in your Photos! It has to be a “file”. In the Photos app, pick the photo, click “Share” and pick “Save to Files”. And here’s the next tricky part: You need to pick a place to save it. I like to use On My iPhone → Firefox → Downloads.

Select File

Back in Lagrange, find the file and pick it.

Find the file

The important part to check is whether the file size is 100,000 or less. You need to find a way to resize your files if your files are too big. Or host them elsewhere.

Verify file size

Click “Upload”.

We’re back in our capsule, and the file is uploaded!

New file is there!

Click the link and see how Lagrange inlines the image! 🤩

The image, inlined

Maybe we’re done, right? Well, maybe not! Remember Antenna? We want to let other people know about the new page. So let’s go to our “gemlog” – that is, the page “index.gmi”.

index.gmi

Click the three dot menu “⋯” above and pick “Copy Page Source” from the menu. Then click the three dot menu again and pick “Upload Page with Titan” from the menu.

Copy Page Source and Upload Page with Titan

Pick your identity again (“Alex” in my case) and click on the “Upload Plain Text” link.

Verify identity

Click in to the text area, then click on the cursor again to call up the edit menu. Pick “Select All” and hit the backspace key.

Delete the previous text

Click into the text area again to call up the edit menu. Pick “Paste” and insert the page source we copied.

Add a new entry for the page we just created. Make sure you start the link text with a date in the format YYYY-MM-DD (four digit year, two digit month, two digit day). Click “Upload”.

Add an entry for today

Now go back to your bookmarks and find that link to submit your “gemlog” (the URL to your “index.gmi” page) to Antenna.

To do it, use “gemini://warmedal.se/~antenna/submit?” and add the URL to your “index.gmi” page: “gemini:/transjovian.org/capsule/intetebi/index.gmi” (replace “intetebi” with your own capsule’s name).

Submission to Antenna

There’s more info on how it all works on Antenna itself. Plus all the other people who are writing! 😄
