Hello there! You can call me Teasel (they/them). I'm what the kids call an "elder millenial" apparently. Kids these days, I swear; I'm not even 40 yet!

So what am I about? A bit of everything, really. I'm from that generation which grew up with the Internet, but were old enough to remember life before it. (And I have to say, seeing the way technology has gone is turning me more and more into a Luddite by the day.) Finding the tildeverse was serendipity (or maybe Synchronicity II, if you're into that).

I used to work at a makerspace and have been programming for most of my life (longer than the Web has been a thing, it turns out, which is neat). So yeah, I'm techy, but I'm also the kind of person who likes to write with a fountain pen -- or even a dip pen sometimes -- and enjoys woodworking when I can manage it. (My place is too small for a workshop, sadly.)

My main hobby is writing. Journaling, poetry, songs, stories... I write a bit of everything. Some of it might make it here, even. In that same vein, and in the tradition of Tolkein, I'm big on worldbuilding. One of my biggest peeves with modern mainstream media is how lax the worldbuilding frequently is. Please think through the implications of your tech/magic/whatever, because it affects everything else, and actually thinking about these knock-on effects *will* make your writing stronger.

I'm a firm believer that Bill and Ted were right: Be excellent to each other (ie. give a damn about other people), and party on, dudes! (because if you don't have joy in your life, what's the point?)
