The Company gave me off today, in celebration of some thing or another. The time at home is nice, but it's way too sunny out for my taste.

I recently learned that tilde.pink's mail setup works perfect, with mutt pre-installed, and I can accept and send email at my username at tilde.pink. If anyone wants to reply to my posts directly, this is an option!

"Mobile" "computing"

I've been struggling to use my PinePhone meaningfully for about nine months. I recently picked up a bluetooth keyboard with a slot in it to place a phone, and have had some success with just using my iphone + ish or termius to do a lot of what I've tried to do with my PinePhone. Tilde.Pink is actually really useful for this, as termius has good mosh support and I can just use emacs in the terminal on tilde.pink to do a lot of authoring and programming. We'll see if I stick to this long term.

I'm slowly coming to terms with the idea that I don't actually want a more unix-like experience in a smartphone, I just want to be able to fold up my ThinkPad and fit it in my pocket. Sadly that does not seem viable, now or ever.

I think this also means I'm going to (mentally) retract my "returning to 80 characters" post; both termius and ish on my iphone display 104 characters in landscape mode, so I think 100 char line widths makes sense moving forward.
