i tried a support group

first of all, i was supposed to take my meds today and /totally/ forgot about it until past noon; thankfully i realized what day it was!

anyway though, my city has a little trans-positive support group. they've been sending me emails every single week since november, because my doctor wanted me to join, but i never actually decided to accept the invite until today.

a bit of a background: i **hate** communities. i'm a salty beeyatch who is very awkward and jealous, so being part of a group specifically geared towards transfolk is really, really, *really* not something i would normally do.

a few friendos recently encouraged me to finally join, cause i keep complaining to them about receiving the group invites, so yeah i replied and they sent me a zoom link for friday at 14:00.

i had to download zoom and make an account. thankfully it has a linux client.

honestly... it was fun. i was awkward and didn't do /too/ much talking, but the people there were cool, and i really appreciate the human interaction.

they also have a discord. i finally decided to use discord to hang with them.

it's weird... usually i'm known as "emily, the girl with the 2008 netbook who likes email and can't stand people", but now i'm "emily, the normie who uses zoom and discord and talks to people". we'll see how long i can keep this up...

it's too early to tell if it's better for my mental wellbeing, but it's been a fun experience.

hope y'all are doing okay. stay well!
