motidu day 30: the end

well, the "month of things i don't use" comes to a close. things are calm again.

i may write tutorials on what i learned, but i might not. i /really/ want to create a haskell tutorial, since it's been fun, but i'll wait until i feel slightly more efficient in it.

after trying out so many different things for such a long time, i'm glad to say i've gotten used to many different workflows, and have gotten efficient at some things. it's so fun to use alternative software, but in the end, i found that i /usually/ just went back to what i used before the month was over.

i still use rmail and mbox for email

i still prefer irssi for irc

i still prefer dino for xmpp

i still like to use emacs for everything

i still prefer lisp as a programming language

of course, there are many new things that made my computing experience more fun:

i discovered mpd & ncmpcpp for music and radio

alpine linux is adorable and "just works"

mpop & msmtp are amazing tools for getting & sending mail

alpine is an adorable mail client, even if i prefer rmail

nntp is an awesome protocol

erc is awesome when used with ibuffer folders

vim is nuts & totally comfy with a minimal config

it's been a blast of a month, and i know my 'motidu' posts aren't the most interesting, but it's always fun to write about using new things, so thanks for putting up with me!
