Probably this dependencies list for redshift is less bad if you've already installed that desktop and python stuff for other needs, but given the alternative of running something like

    xrandr --output "$(xrandr | awk '/ connected/{print $1}')" \
           --gamma 1.0:1.0:0.000001

the dependencies list might be a bit steep. Granted, the script will need a bit more complexity if you have multiple monitors or want to automate the changes, but that's not too much of an ask.

The morbidly curious may wonder what is dragging in an embeddable JavaScript engine.
