Around a day ago, Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform Twitter, banned all links to popular Mastodon servers and considered profiles which have them as "malware".
Along with this, many journalists were banned soon, which really doesn't sell the "free speech" claims if you ask me...
Due to this, a lot of people are joining Mastodon (around an increase of 2-3k per hour from 900-1k per hour), which is causing the mastodon.social server to lag a lot; images load slowly or never do and pages take much longer to load.
