A Mystery Wrapped in an Enigma

I'm Chris, a blind guy who has been online in some form or other since 1993. I was a pot-smoking philosophy student turned computer programmer. I can't smoke weed anymore for physiological reasons, but I'm still an arm-chair philosopher. My technical interests include free software and open protocols.

Politically, I'm way to the left, and something of a techno-utopian who is convinced that technology has the power to end the scarcity which I believe to be the largest cause of human violence and stupidity. Unfortunately, most technical effort is presently being hijacked and misdirected by those I refer to as the bullshit alchemists of Silicon Valley.
