I really miss the 3DS

The DS Lite was my very favorite console out of all the consoles that I have ever owned or played. Next is the New 3DS XL/LL. The slightly better CPU, circle pad, and nice big screen. I miss it. I haven’t had a lot of time for games lately and when I do, I tend to play on my Switch because I can join in with others or play just about any game on it in Chinese. That feature has me preferring the Switch above others right now. But the form factor of the 3DS LL, it just can’t be beat.

I got out my 3DSLL today. I was hunting around in the awkward menus for a way to change the language. Spoiler alert: The option does not exist on the New Japanese 3DSLL. And even if I could find that option, the versions that let you switch the language only support English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese?

While I was on the device I activated street pass and then played through the opening of Animal Crossing New Leaf and placed my home. This game sat neglected for quite a while because I was distracted by Fantasy Life. Which I switched to after wondering how the game could have gone so long on my console without ever playing it.

After that I closed the lid and placed it back on the shelf. Then I grabbed my switch to be able to play games I could actually play with other people, except it felt big and clunky. It made me wish I could have a Switch in 3DS form factor. I wouldn’t mind playing on a smaller screen, the 3DS was very pocketable.

I think I’ll see if I can complete the storyline and get each Life up to max level before Fantasy Life i is released in … October is it? I noticed there was a Nintendo Direct entry for Fantasy Life and that the eShop date was now set to 10/10.
