2022-12-04 - side tracked by wkd, what’s next?

So, after a brief detour and getting WKD working, I have to re-orient myself and see what I want to focus on this week.

As far as TODO items, I haven’t resolved using mastodon for comments, but per the aforementioned detour, I need to consider how I want to do feedback. I don’t think I’ll have anything as fancy as needing a comment section on each page. I figured it would make it easier, but really given the speed of change here and the volume of expected interactions on the platform, it’s massive overkill. I could probably do with just creating some sort of contact form or scripting some easy method of slurping comments up into pages or going even more low key and just including e-mail contact information at the root of my capsule or on some contact page… are vcards a thing?

So, I’m going to look into the following:

CGI Scripting on Gemini – Gemserv allows server-side scripts, so I’ll start there

Embedding prompts in pages – I know it has something to do with requests, but no idea on the syntax

Atom feeds – How do they work for Gemini? Multiple browsers support these, I should definitely take a look.

And I still have a bunch of notes to review and push onto the server, and I have my old web content that I want to bring back, and I should probably do something with the HTTP(s)-facing part of my domain…
