bbnet roadmap

protocol structure

layer 01: gemini (you are here)

> Gemini is a new internet protocol which:

> * Is heavier than gopher

> * Is lighter than the web

> * Will not replace either

> * Strives for maximum power to weight ratio

> * Takes user privacy very seriously

layer 02: rlog

pull-based gossip over gemini.

rlog

layer 03: signals

interlinks with companion protocols. structured command documents similar to manta maybe?

layer 04: trees

overlay network rendezvous, network namespace flattening via [yggdrasil]. you could call these mandatory signals. no network in particular is mandated, but some kind of overlay network is needed to enable symmetric peer communications. technologies like UPnP could be used together with signals to create dynamic interfaces on the open internet.

though i beg of you, please encrypt your communication channels!

layer 05: distortion

> [空]

> darkness

> cross the river of styx

> y tomamos el fuego
