Anxiety is hell, and I have lots at the momont, having been fired from my job last month, being unemployed for October 1st. Metacognitive Therapy is a way out that have worked for me. I wrote about it here: gemini://synthe.ist/log/anxiety.gmi

Yes @marginalia, mind and body are one. 路 2 years ago

I think there are two sides to this, one is indeed having the tools to identify and break unconstruvtive thought patterns, but I find if I don't take care of my body, my mind won't cooperate either. If I sleep well, eat well, exercise regularly; my thoughts need a lot less "debugging" than otherwise. 路 2 years ago

Thanks @sdfgeoff, and the best to you too. And most psychological theories are quite intuitive. I guess you'd like reading about NLP too. 路 2 years ago

Huh, that was an interesting read. The theory behind metacognitive therapy seems pretty similar to the what I derived about my own mental processing over the past year. Good to see my mental processes aren't so far from human-normal.

While I can't relate much to anxiety, I sure can to depression/rumination. Reliving the past is something I do too often, and realizing that (and acknowledging the lies I tell myself about myself) has had a large impact on my wellbeing.

Good luck for the future!

May the road rise up to meet you

May the wind be always at your back

May the sun be warm upon your face,

the rain fall soft upon your fields,

and until we meet again,

may God hold you in the palm of his hand. 路 2 years ago
