@aespire Familiar with the basics of it. Too many other things to read. Feel comparatively insulated using a low-target OS like Haiku on ancient silicon. If my hardware ever dies and I鈥檓 forced onto 64-bit, maybe I鈥檒l have to take a serious look at ZealOS (TempleOS with networking). 路 2 weeks ago

@istvan That was completely different reason than I thought. I suggest to read Trusting Trust or something like this from Ken Thompson. Wild stuff if you haven't read it yet. 路 2 weeks ago

@aelspire The USA government pushes for everything to be written in Rust. That is as big of a red flag as I can imagine: I don鈥檛 think more evidence is required that the NSA has found a way to compromise the compiler. Similar to the reason I use pre-2007 CPUs for my desktop systems. 路 2 weeks ago

When software was a nerd hobby, nobody cared. Now that software is power, it is infiltrated at every level by military-grade glow ops. I would not at all be surprised if the push to universalize systemd is a glow op, like the takeover of NIST to get NSA approved curves into crypto. 路 3 weeks ago
