Today I finally learned how to record guitar into the Octatrack to get some sequenced loops going. It was and is still super obtuse to use but I can sense the power of it all.

Little did I know that you need to save your recordings before turning the unit off. Oops.

Being able to loop and layer guitar bars over beats and hardware synths away from a traditional DAW is what I’ve been yearning for.

I hope that over time it becomes more natural and easy to record layers without inadvertently recording other loops.

My goal is to be able to sequence whole songs with a good mix of live interactivity so it’s not just hitting play and letting the song play though without doing anything.
