Condition: G5

Location: Home, Spearfish: 44.49, -103.87

Forecast was clear, but a very thin layer of whispy clouds formed and were dominating a good portion of the sky. I had to call off attempting NGC 2261 due to this. Hopefully I can catch it soon before it slips below the horizon!

Stunning color. Very red hue, almost to the point where it seems un-natural as if it was artificial. Not many of the carbon stars I've viewed were both this red and this bright.

Lovely. I've been waiting for this one and it was worth the wait. Rich golden yellow with a trim of orange. Could be seen easily through the finder scope.
