Yesterday someone asked for the US section of the Guardian to be included in the mirror at guardian.shit.cx. So that's done.

With the world the way it is right now, I think anything that makes consuming news a little nicer is a good thing. If there are any other sections you'd like mirrored, just send me an email.

Recently, I started reading the Guardian over Gemini again after realising that most of the time I spend on their site is spent sifting through the front page for the new content which is interleaved into the old. Having the articles listed by date is better. I could have also used RSS, but for some reason, opening my news folder is just too much.

Switching from the web to a pure text version of the news has been a nice change. The content needs to be compelling, the splashy pictures can't draw me in. There are few things I wish were different — justified text and my choice of fonts. Maybe the ability to adjust line-spacing too. But I'm going to have to lobby the client authors (are you listening deedum author, whoever you are?). Also, the code is available and I'm happy to accept PRs if you feel strongly enough to implement it.

So if you didn't like that guardian.shit.cx didn't have enough US news, well maybe give it another chance.
