Allow me to introduce myself!

In the Gemiverse I'm going by Sarushka. I have a bodily identity and name that I go by publicly on the Web. Other than in a few completely insignificant matters, I've never gone by a pseudonym online before.

This isn't because I have anything particular to hide, though in these days of total surveillance, who knows? I may come to have had something to hide. (Not often you get to use that tense in your prose.)

Actually, I don't mind at all if you know who I am in reality and on the web, or vice versa. I'm Sarah Hinlicky Wilson and have my own website named after me. I used to think it was creepy. Now I've given in on the grounds that if you don't say what you want about yourself, someone else will say it for you, and probably in a way you don't like.

Anyway, the reason to be present on Gemini and as Sarushka is because here I intend to explore ideas that I don't understand as well as I'd like, and it helps to have a little distance on my public and official self to try out things that I may jettison as I go along.

Again, this isn't nearly as exciting as it sounds up front. It's mainly because I'm an academic by training, and we start to hyperventilate if we can't extensively footnote every assertion.

Also, what I want to explore is not my "proper" domain. I'm a theologian by training and vocation, so I don't mind throwing around my ideas (footnoted and otherwise) in that field.

But here I'm venturing into less explored territory, which nevertheless feels urgent.
