55 - Ogre hunt is tomorrow.

Something else awful happened yesterday. I'm not going to write about that in here, but suffice to say that it's forced our hand with the ogre problem. We wanted to work on the monitoring, try to carefully co-exist and all that, but it's all out the window now, and we're going to hustle up with the hunt. It's going down tomorrow morning.

Old Hat brings out this big whiteboard on wheels she used to use at the college, and we all mask up and stand around it by the crocus patch to figure this out. Lot of dotted lines, lots of arrows, lots of X's, and one big O. It's going to be the usual - draw it out to chase us, and then surround it, like we're a bunch of coyotes. But it takes some co-ordination for sure. And we only have like two guns that still work. My crossbow doesn't work any more.

And someone had this bright idea of inviting a couple of centaurs along to help. I know those two a bit, and I don't trust either one further than I can throw them, and that's not very far. I have a bad feeling about it.

You'd think with what I've lost to ogres, that I'd be all in on this stuff and leading the pack. And given what happened yesterday, even more so. But I know some things about ogres that maybe some others don't, and it makes this job harder. And it's dangerous, too. Last time around, Aya broke her leg and Theo got killed before we brought it down. And I think we're getting better at this, but anything can happen.

I hope we have some luck.
