What I did today

I realized that part of the reason why I'm publishing so often is to put my thoughts on paper so it doesn't feel like they disappear from my head. With ADHD, it feels like there's wisps of thoughts and memories swirling around that are threatened to dissipate if you don't hold on long enough (which induces a painful knot-like feeling). However, remembering to journal or the motivation to do so is lacking. Hence, the importance of proper structure, note taking regime and discipline.

An easy way to see what I did for the day is to cat my shell history. Seems like I:

did a btrfs scrub

did updates and backups

looked at my etc git history

removed unused flatpak runtimes

removed retroarch because it kept crashing, though might reinstall it later

checked my dbus stuff because I kept getting dbus messages, although I'm pretty sure my setup is fine

looked at some NVIDIA stuff; TL;DR VDPAU hardware acceleration is not supported in Wayland

set some flatpak permissions with flatseal and made some applications use Wayland

And I already lost my train of thought because I had to look at something else and I'm not going back to where I was. So it seems like my day, tech-wise anyway, is actually pretty busy, even though it doesn't feel like it. While I do keep some notes, I can't be bothered and it's mentally difficult to keep more diligent notes. My memory is a lot worse than it was a few years ago, I worry that it will only continue to get worse from here on out.
