2022

The year has mostly finished and it did so in what felt like a heartbeat.

While 2021 was a year of big changes for me, 2022 was one about finding a new stability: Enjoying living with my partner, getting accustomed to a new and challenging role, and strengthening some new habits.

- I'm glad I was able to visit some more of Germany: Dresden, Leipzig, Binz and several towns around Brandenburg.

- Travelled to Scotland for the first time and met my partner's parents!

- I moved my projects to sourcehut[1], I'm a big fan of its philosophy.

- Stopped using twitter and went all in on mastodon[2].

- Restarted this blog!

- Decided to create "Tranquil Systems" with the aim of becoming an independent software developer.

- Got a library card :)

- Went back to film, taking more pictures and developing at home again.

- Started learning the low whistle and the clarinet.

- Started 10 projects, finished 1 but got more hands on experience on: Rust, SvelteKit, SwiftUI, Flutter, Deno, Typescript, and the Playdate SDK.

- Started around 12 new songs, finished none.

- Started going to the puzzled pint.

- Got back into board games, and got a few more this year.

- Biked more than any other year.

- Got a wisdom tooth out.

- Discovered Gemini[3], and made my website[4] and blog[5] available there.

- Followed around 20 new blogs and started using NetNewsWire[6] again.

- Got a label maker / embosser and labeled EVERYTHING.

- Started practicing drawing again, and then stopped.

I'm sure there were a lot more, and while these all might seem small, they added up to a kind year in what was a hectic and chaotic one worldwide.

2023: Foundation

As the next year comes up, I want the general theme of it to be one of Foundation, laying the groundwork on which to build. For the first season of the year, the focus of that foundation will be: Charting a course.

See you all in 2023. Guten Rutsch!
