Oriean Space FAQ

What's up with the name?

The term "Oriean" is formed by using the suffix "-ean" which means "of or belonging to" and adding it to the name of the constellation "Orion".

Therefore, "Oriean" is an adjective that means "of or belonging to Orion", as in "the Oriean stars" or "the Oriean region of space".

What is this, anyway?

Oriean Space is an attempt on a new frontier of gemspace. The Space is the general location (as in domain [i.e.: betelgeuse.oriean.space]) of Stations, it will truly emerge with their presence. I imagine these Stations as something to be what will constitute the "social-web" of Oriean Space, the places where people meet and share. In time, the Space will be populated by them each with it's unique features and quirks. Independent, but connected. Although it's not really a priority right now, the time to expand will come. Feel free to hit me up if you have any interest in participating on the settling of Oriean Space.

Capsule hosting

Soon, the OSS-Betelgeuse will be accepting docking authorization requests for gemini capsules. How that'll work is pretty simple. Upon granted authorization, you'll receive instructions on how to connect to the Station via SFTP. There you'll have access to your brand new gemini capsule ready to be filled with your glorious content! Just SFTP your pages to your gemini directory and >bada-bing-bada-boom< it's live.

What makes this Space different?

I have no idea, really. Except that it's my own brainchild.

I'm a newbie when it comes to this kind of thing. Pretty much no frame of reference here, not gonna lie.

Why are you doing this?

Basically, I got hooked on gemini and saw some really cool places, the ones I thought the coolest at the time were full/out of commission. So I decided to make my own community hub.
