Terminal - Stuff I wish I had known

Linux terminal tricks I wish I had know. This is a list of shortcuts I wish I had known when I started to learn more about terminal. I am by no means an expert but enjoy using the terminal were I can. If you have any tips let me know in IRC.

- 09/07/2023 : use "Ctrl + z" to suspend a terminal process, "jobs" will list, fg (means forground) to bring it back. If you have more than one process suspended "fg #" where # corresponding process number.

- 17/06/2023 : move around the terminal faster.

pushd and popd

- 05/06/2023 : use "cd -" to move back to the directory you came from and use the same command again to go back again.

- 30/05/2023 : curl wttr.in/[location] best and very accurate weather report for your location.

- 29/05/2023 : Learn Vim

- 28/05/2023 : Use scp (part of ssh) to more files and folders from and to your server.

- 27/05/2023 : CTRL + r to reverse search your shell history. Use ESC to not execute, command will just stay or ENTER to execute to command. Continue to use CTRL + r to continue back in your shell history.
