Lacking Momentum

You ever feel like you have a million ideas, but when you sit down to try and start one of them, you literally have no idea where to go?

That's how I've been feeling for most of 2024. Then again, I've felt this way for most of my life. Lots of ideas, no momentum to move forward. A lot of times it's that debilitating train of thought of "where to start?"

Since 2022 or 2023, I've wanted to make a solo TTRPG podcast. I thought about starting a campaign using FFG/EDGE's Star Wars TTRPG system. I don't recall there being a lot of resources or podcasts that combined the two like that and I wanted to help shed light on the possibility. But as time went on, I kept feeling more and more listless. I didn't know what kind of setting or characters to make. What kind of story do I even want to start telling? Knowing how Star Wars fans can get, I didn't want to "do it wrong."

So that project idea fell to the wayside. I thought I could do a solo campaign, again as a podcast, using another system. I really wanted to try Eclipse Phase, but again, I keep feeling frozen just trying to figure out where to start.

It's infuriating. And now I'm feeling something similar with making video games. There should be a structure that I could follow but I want to combine two casual game mechanics and I don't know which one to start off with.

That's where I'm at, trying to decide on what I actually want to do. I am attempting to make some positive changes in my life so maybe that'll help? 🤞
