< a question for the writers

sadly i find words don't come to me easily sadly, or.. they do but they don't translate to words others can understand. i have always been much more of a visual thinker and as a result i sort of have to translate between my thinking, and then english, then type those words. which can be really hard when the only word i know for something either doesn't exist or is only in another language like auslan.

Oh, I see, I guess I assumed a bit too much lol. MY advice is still to read a lot and write. If written language is not your strength, then you can write with a dictionary at hand, and write simple stuff, start with very simple scenes or stories, even if the vocabulary is plain, there's no shame in that. Eventually, as you read more, more ways of saying things will suggest themselves to you, that is why it is important for you to write as well, and not get discouraged. I know the blank page can be intimidating, but just letting a stream of words to come out is the best remedy, even if you get stuck from time to time, well, there's the dictionary. Actually when I try and write in Chinese, being myself only intermediate in that language, I have to often recur to a dictionary or find a different way to express what I want to say, in a way, walking around the difficult word.

If you have a story, you can outline the story in a number of sentences, then try to elaborate on each one as far as you can, and this way work on each part of the story until you feel like you have developed it enough to be readable. You cannot expect to write a great fiction just yet, you're _practicing_ and _learning_, read your own stories, or even better, get some feedback. Remember at the first stages of practice you're like a little baby, you can't demand much from yourself.

Please don't use a bot like gpt to write stuff for you, it's style is awful.
