The same thing happened in Russia, after the period of the USSR, when education was very high and appreciated (plus it was free for everyone and then you got a job according to your profile, it was not even discussed). Now the quality of education does not always correspond to the modern criterion, it is expensive, and there may be no jobs in the region. Practice shows that if this is not a vocation (which excludes only financial benefits), then it is better not to go to college.
