Midnight Pub

for the love of post resurrection

~inquiry

Once upon an ego, in a self-galaxy spatially and temporally far, far away, yours truly had a burning need to make song-ish audio recordings.

And, well, being from "way back" and all, skills were lesser, technology was lesser, and all the other endless disclaimative yadda.

But they're my babies, right?

They've not been online in quite some time. Got tired of paying hosting services when I wasn't going to draw attention to them anyway (having abandoned the likes of Facebook and Twitter long ago).

And then somewhere along the line I learned I could sorta pseudo static host via "free" <coughs violently> Google toolage. People can access files in my "drive" by way of permissions and URLs. One can mimic web pages containing anchors/links via "slides".

(I wouldn't be surprised if there are better "free" ways, but that's how shit unfolded for me).

(Maybe it's just the Jade-d within, but shouldn't the word 'free' be linguisto-legally changed to have to always contain the double quotes given what a joke the word tends to be in the context of this hapless species?)

Anyway, here's what I came up with... yeah, super clunky.. visually abhorrent, etc. BUT it attains unto delivering the content bacon, so... have at, highly esteemed pubsters:

A sonic side of ~inquiry

(heh... the Google URL actually ends in 'pub'...)

I've explained "Breathless Robin" elsewhere, here.. but, once again, despite sounding intensely demeaning, the song was actually an act of high praise - if not worship - of a woman with one of the finest speaking voices I've ever experienced....

(FWIW: I STILL want to put a 'k' on the end of the word 'mimic'....)

(2022/05/05 - In case it matters to anyone, I've added "(*)" to the end of song titles representing covers or spoofs based on covers. I keep thinking everyone knows those songs, forgetting I've already one foot in the grave.....)

oh wow. this sounds really good!

the track that caught my eye as soon as i opened the "site" was 'when i think of you', and i think it's really a classic. i study music in school—we recently just finished a part of the pop unit, covering rock&roll and motown and soul and such, and this reminds me of that, but probably because it's from the same era. i think it's really fascinating.

honestly i'm surprised by the quality. gonna loop through these as i study for exams tomorrow :)

I listened through "I Want to be Close to You" while I mended my coat tonight. You have a lovely voice, and the sound quality really isn't that bad to an untrained ear in spite the circumstances...I hear worse from other single-person productions pretty frequently.

I liked From the Beginning and Letting Go best, of the songs that I listened to. Do you have the lyrics written down anywhere?
