Over the weekend I got tired of generating mpv playlists using complicated find commands and write a shell script to generate a plain text library of my music, search it using grep and extended regular expressions, and pipe results to mpv with switches to control repeat and shuffle.
I call it “rockout”. You’re welcome to use it too.
I wrote and tested it on OpenBSD, but it should work on other BSDs, GNU/Linux, and GNU/systemd.
(edit: I've updated this post to link to v0.8.1 since I fixed some bugs and added some features.)
> I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Systemd, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Systemd. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Systemd system made useful by the Systemd, as defined by Systemd.
Sorry, I couldn't help it :D
