comfortable silence in starlit darkness. inhale, exhale. my lungs fill and then deflate. i see my trembling hands, blooming white rose splattered with red ink, and the flickering of my apparition. i am partially alive, half-awake and half-asleep, torn between two places. i waver upon the fence of life and death.

spirits in the dark are waiting amidst forest green. the wind goes quietly, swaying leaves gracefully, soft susurrus sounding like a cool pillow against my skin. i smile, a hopeful undertone. a shadow tilts its head at me.

today, i lived. i am alive.
