Midnight Pub

introductions

~the8thworld

hey folks. I'm Eight, host of The Eighth World. We're a system, so we have multiple people sharing a body. check our profile for more information! occasionally others might post with this account, we'll give ample warning if this happens. ~bartender! one spiced cold latte, please. put it on my tab.

so I'm thinking I'll mostly use this site for the occasional long winded rant or infodump. maybe a journal? that is yet to be decided. perhaps a journal where I talk about the big things that are hopefully few and far between. oooh, maybe I'll post my writing! if I ever get back to doing it.

I'm searching the smolnet for the perfect place for a photography blog, I'll link it if I find it. I just recently got a couple of (used but in great condition) cameras that I really want to learn more about. I'm also a HUGE alt-social-media nerd. finding ways to connect people is a big autistic special interest for me, and a lot of my smaller interests are under that. Another part of that is sharing music! I think every time I post here I'll share a song that I love in that moment.

I just recently started learning about gemini and by GODS it's cool. I can't wait to explore more! and hopefully I get accepted into the various communities I applied for.

to start the song-recommending-tradition, I want to link my two playlists. playlist one, I keep updated every week. playlist two, I update whenever I feel like it. I'm so passionate about sharing music, I hope someone on here finds joy in something I give.

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7HueFbeS68jseGanVGT1qn?si=18688765e8de474a my weekly-updated hyperpop playlist

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0SIwoSbvEXwwXDYSlgI40U?si=b25fe342b40f4860 my worldly mostly math rock and some midwest emo playlist

and lastly, I want to share a bit of my writing. the rest is on our neocities, https://the8thworld.neocities.org

[begin writing]

While the colors on the walls were faded and the stone was cracked and chipped, the vibrant air was still apparent. Beneath the once-colorful-now-bleached hanging cloths, on the hard, dusty ground, he sat. The sunlight streamed in from the wooden lattice covering the top of the courtyard. It felt warm on his skin. The air was still. Nothing moved but the particles of dust floating in the afternoon warmth. At that moment, where he was did not matter. How he got there wasn’t of any importance. He knew that he could exist here, in harmony with nature, and that he could leave his old life at the door. And that was enough.

[end writing]

that's all for this post. I might post more today if there's something I forgot or something I want to talk about.

(p.s. I thought I knew how link formatting works but i don't so if someone could tell me that would be wonderful ^^)

Welcome! I’m looking forward to seeing this photography blog, and if I see it I might share some of my own photography on there - I recently got some new Nikon bodies that I’m looking forward to using. What cameras did you get?

Welcome to the pub!

I am also new here and I can tell you that this place looks very nice.

Make sure to try their draft beer.

About the links, what ~beefox wrote.

But I just realized that In the Midnight pub, since the content is available both in http and gemini, you can make a protocol agnostic link by omitting the "http:" part. For some place that is available in both plotocols.

like this
=> //example.org

your profile on web and gemini

you gotta start you links with "=>" ! i think you can also do it like this

"=> https://example.org Example Site"

Example Site
