Hello everyone, as somebody living in Emacs atop GUIX, browsing with Firefox and letting Sourcehut host my Git and website, I owe immeasurable thanks to all the wonderful people that make all these things possible.

This year it’s all about games, and me and my friends spent immeasurable hours inside TES3MP, a multiplayer mod which is built on OpenMW, an open-source rewrite of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind Engine. OpenRA, DevilutionX and Arx Libertatis, all these bring old games I love, back to be playable on modern machines, without bad performance or messy hacks. Taisei is really cool too.

So much love and support for even the smallest of projects is hard to come by. I’m happy to see people do what they enjoy, and the best way to start is reading about what other people do, and learning from their wisdom.

Learning by doing is my way to go.

So, think about all the little projects that keep the world afloat, now and then, and about the people behind them.
