Today I Lost an Important Thing in My Life

A very important thing, which made up large parts of my private life for the last decade, has been taken from me. Nothing life-threatening or dangerous in any way, just leaving a big hole.

Granted, I was thinking about removing it from my life voluntarily a couple of times, but never took any action. Or, better, not stopping what I was doing.

The thing was always smooth sailing, so to speak, but in the last couple of years, it was even smoother. Totally effortless. Maybe too effortless, because I spent a lot of time on it.

While there are sensible alternatives, which would on one hand lighten some burden, while on the other have major strings attached.

I‘m not sure if I should take this opportunity to mostly quit the thing and use the time saved for maybe more important things. Can’t tell if I would be happier, because the thing often made me happy.
