Hello! I'm Lark (they/it).
This capsule is my personal site and gemlog.
Hey! I'm pretty new here. I've been disillusioned with the modern web for a while, which is what eventually led me here.
My friends think I'm a Computer Person™, but I'm actually a bit of a luddite. I've mostly eschewed social media (although I do have a fedi I use infrequently). I use an RSS reader to get all my news. Blogging is my main form of online social engagement. That sort of thing.
I've been drawn to the principles of the indieweb and the smallweb, which makes me really excited to explore this place. I want to go back to when computing was fun and simple.
I make software in my free time, especially in Rust. I maintain some Rust libraries and I run an online queer history archive. I've been using Linux since 2014. I'm (mostly) de-googled, although some services are difficult to get away from.
