Final Fantay III Music

I was thinking back on my reivew of Final Fantasy III, which was the last one I did. It wasn't a very good review because there were obviously some things I forgot to mention, while spending too much time on things that perhaps didn't need to be mentioned like job classes and stuff. That's why I tried to at least cut it into sections so readers would have an easier time skipping what they are not interested in.

One thing I really forgot to mention was the game's music. This was a major oversight, because I found that FF3 has a great and notable soundtrack. I've heard it said before that FF2 had good music, and that this was one of the game's few redeeming qualities, but I honestly couldn't really get that into the musical score of FF2. Something about that one seemed to fall short of my expectations, and music is really a very important element of a Final Fantasy game. I would even go as far as to say that it is half of what makes these games worth playing and considered classics of the art.

So, especially in light of FF2, FF3's music stands out nicely and provides the game with the desired atmosphere and feeling. Like the game itself, it's a great effort with above-average results. I think it also sits nicely next to the score in FF1, which was also satisfying and iconic. (Sorry, FF2!)

Now I am about more than half-way through FF4, and I'm hoping to finish it some time this week, so expect another review coming. Even in comparison to FF4, which many consider to be the best game in the series, FF3 really holds up well on its own.
